From Mom to Mompreneur The 10 Essential Traits My Kids Taught Me about Running a Business

Everything I know about being a Mompreneur I learned from raising my Kids As a business owner I am sure you have experienced times when you felt overwhelmed, flustered, frustrated, desperate, confused and out of your league. Some of you may have wanted to give up. You may have thought that you were in over your head. This was not the reason you got into business. You pictured freedom to choose how you spent your time, being your own boss and having time for yourself, but this is not the reality. I am going to show you that you can have all those things if you just look back at what you learned from being a parent. I have been thinking about how I learned to run a business, where I drew the wisdom from, what experiences helped me along the way and what drives me to continue even when things don´t seem to be working out. Every time I get the same answer; I learned it from being a...

The Business of Being a Mom-How to Eliminate Stress and Love Your Life

This post is dedicated to you girls, you know who you are. Being a stay at home mom has its perks but it also has a downside. The image of being what I call a front line coordinator is awesome for those that don’t do it. It is coveted by working moms world wide because they believe you get these incredible moments, fantastic times when you connect with your kids and that life is just easier, smoother and pleasant when you are home. We are going to explore that in this post. What is life like a working mom? Wake up, get the kids up, get them to brush their teeth, get dressed, eat breakfast, all the while trying to get your face on, trying to do something about that hair and pick clothes so you look presentable. You drag them to the car  a panic because you are afraid you will be late for work. Shit you forgot the lunches, OK Tim Hortons drive through and were good....

Taking 100% Responsibility for Your Life

Today I realized that there are a lot of people out there that need help trying to figure out how to make their lives phenomenal. Its about making a decision to change the way you perceive your life and how you want to react to it. There are so many twists and turns in life that can affect what happens next in your life and what your future will bring that you really need to be on top of how you deal with them. Your life is the result of the way that you deal with it. It is the culmination of all the decisions you have made, every reaction you have had and each and every choice you have made. Many people today feel they are entitled to something good in life. They feel that life owes them or that society owes them something when this is not the case. Life does not owe you anything instead you owe yourself something. You owe yourself the respect to take...

Child labor or a labor of love

One of the greatest ways to have more time as a working mother is to get some help. Who can you get to help, the kids of cource providing they are over the diaper stage 🙂 I have seen it over and over again that parents run around trying to prepare lunches, get the kids ready and then try to get themselves prepared to start the work day. Meanwhile the kids are just hanging around waiting for their parents to get everything done. Dinner time is a big one. The kids whine and ask about dinner, when is it ready, whats for dinner, we are hungry etc. They will sit down for dinner without any forthought of the fact that there are no glasses or no butter. They wait rather than take initiative to help prepare the family meal. What about where are my clothes or can you wash my favorite sweater. Why do we as parents let ourselves get caught up in this merrygoround. I think we should...

Live your life love your family

I walked into the house today after being out all day and the second I walked in I noticed that there were glasses in the sink, pots on the counter and dirt on the floor. Normally I wouldn´t be irritated but I was soo looking forward to working on my business once I got home. It didn´t help that I had to cook which I really didn´t feel like doing. Today I just wanted to do my thing. I had been out all day doing things for others so I felt I had done my share. Anyway the reason I am telling you this is that once I started yelling and nagging the kids a thought occurred to me. I know you shouldn’t ´t just walk in and nag, not very effective and I know that letting things slide until later and asking nicely would have had a better effect. All it did was make my children annoyed at me and for what? What was I trying to accomplish, what was my goal here? That´s...
