Happiness in 9 Simple Steps

Happiness in 9 Simple Steps

How would you like to be happier with your life and happier overall in five simple steps? Did you know that happiness is 50 % genetics and depending on who´s formula you follow the rest is a combination of your circumstances, your attitude and what you choose to fill your day with. When you are happy it spreads to everyone around you. It makes everyone feel great and makes like seem easier. We are pack animals and tend to follow the cues around us so when we are happy we influence the mood of those around us.   How we feel is dependent upon what we think. Our thoughts come before our feelings. In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy they teach that situations arise, we have thoughts and those thoughts influence how we feel. That is extremely powerful. Happiness is not about what you have but what you do with what you have and how you feel about it.   Research has shown that people that win the lottery for instance are only happier...

The secrets to success

I have been reading Jack Canfields Success secrets, in fact while I sat in the sun in Spain last week I read the whole book. The secrets really resonated with me because I am a believer in having good habits that promote success and happiness in your life as well as striving to reduce stress and facilitate greater work life balance in your life. As mompreneurs and working mothers I am sure you will appreciate this, . Then today I was with my interns and was telling them about the book when they began to be really interested. Their faces lit up and they leaned forward to learn more about how they to could get a leg up on life. They are all really intelligent individuals that will go on to change the world with their wisdom and I look forward to following their journey through life. While I was talking to them they expressed a genuine interest in having me teach them one principle a day so that they could...

Child labor or a labor of love

One of the greatest ways to have more time as a working mother is to get some help. Who can you get to help, the kids of cource providing they are over the diaper stage 🙂 I have seen it over and over again that parents run around trying to prepare lunches, get the kids ready and then try to get themselves prepared to start the work day. Meanwhile the kids are just hanging around waiting for their parents to get everything done. Dinner time is a big one. The kids whine and ask about dinner, when is it ready, whats for dinner, we are hungry etc. They will sit down for dinner without any forthought of the fact that there are no glasses or no butter. They wait rather than take initiative to help prepare the family meal. What about where are my clothes or can you wash my favorite sweater. Why do we as parents let ourselves get caught up in this merrygoround. I think we should...

OMS the What is it, How do you get it and how do you fix it. The mompreneurs worst nightmare.

OMS is a serious condition that afflicts many mompreneurs worldwide. It is non-discriminate of race, social status and culture.  It can hit early in the life of their business or not until later on when their business is well established  devastating the mompreneur and putting a wrench in the growth of her business  by creating  havoc in her personal life. OMS can affect every aspect of the mompreneurs life and if not treated can grow to even more serious problems like mental breakdown, the breakdown of a marriage and social isolation from friends and family and serious health problems. This is a syndrome that I discovered through my extensive research during my career as a work life balance coach for mompreneurs.  Healing OMS can only be done by getting help from a professional or systematic structured action from the mompreneur. Once healed of her OMS the mompreneur can again have a balanced and happy life. OMS or Overworked Mompreneur Syndrome happens when mompreneurs have too much on their plate...
