Irritated? Here is a quick fix.

Well here is the second post in our series of posts that help you to figure out where you are now and where you want to go next year so it can be the most productive year ever. Tay we are going to talk about getting out of the rut that has been created by your underlying limited belief that others or other things are to blame for the things you are unhappy with yourself or in your life. Think about this, have you ever been pissed off at the scorching heat or the 30 below winter when you know you live in that climate? Probably not, do you know why? its simply because you can´t change it but you can change how you deal with it and think about it. It’s you, your perception and your reactions that are the key here. If you have the heat or the cold you can move, or you can dress less, go for a swim, put on a parka, take up...

The Business of Being a Mom-How to Eliminate Stress and Love Your Life

This post is dedicated to you girls, you know who you are. Being a stay at home mom has its perks but it also has a downside. The image of being what I call a front line coordinator is awesome for those that don’t do it. It is coveted by working moms world wide because they believe you get these incredible moments, fantastic times when you connect with your kids and that life is just easier, smoother and pleasant when you are home. We are going to explore that in this post. What is life like a working mom? Wake up, get the kids up, get them to brush their teeth, get dressed, eat breakfast, all the while trying to get your face on, trying to do something about that hair and pick clothes so you look presentable. You drag them to the car  a panic because you are afraid you will be late for work. Shit you forgot the lunches, OK Tim Hortons drive through and were good....

Why Are You Here and What Are You Doing Here?

Why are you here? What is you life’s purpose?   Knowing why we are here can be a challenge. It can be the main question in our lives and a major dilemma that we are fixated on or it can be a non concern depending upon your personality. I recommend knowing why you are here and what your purpose is. If you don´t know then you need to find that out. It is your responsibility and duty towards yourself. The thing is,  if you do not know where you are going how in the world can you expect to get there. The fact is you can´t. You have to know where you are going in order to get there. A pilot does not leave the tamarack unless he knows where he is going. A sailor does not leave port without a plan, an entrepreneur does not embark on a business venture without a business plan just like you should not thrust into life without a life plan. Why are...

Get a hold of your thinking!

It is time to grow up, in your thinking anyway. The time for the easygoing, carefree life where you can let your mind run free is over. There is too much junk in there. If you are reading this you have lived quite a life, you have baggage, you have a backpack full of experiences behind you and you know that the only person that is really responsible for your life is you.   We all have thoughts flowing through our mind constantly, anywhere from 12000 to 50 000 a day according to the National Science Foundation. That is pretty powerful. That is why we need to be extremely conscious of the power that these thoughts hold. As these thoughts flow through our minds we are not even aware a lot of the time of the feelings that accompany them. We feel sad, happy, irritated, angry or frustrated sometimes without knowing why. My guess is that one or more of those thousands of thoughts is getting in the way and causing a...

The secrets to success

I have been reading Jack Canfields Success secrets, in fact while I sat in the sun in Spain last week I read the whole book. The secrets really resonated with me because I am a believer in having good habits that promote success and happiness in your life as well as striving to reduce stress and facilitate greater work life balance in your life. As mompreneurs and working mothers I am sure you will appreciate this, . Then today I was with my interns and was telling them about the book when they began to be really interested. Their faces lit up and they leaned forward to learn more about how they to could get a leg up on life. They are all really intelligent individuals that will go on to change the world with their wisdom and I look forward to following their journey through life. While I was talking to them they expressed a genuine interest in having me teach them one principle a day so that they could...

Live your life love your family

I walked into the house today after being out all day and the second I walked in I noticed that there were glasses in the sink, pots on the counter and dirt on the floor. Normally I wouldn´t be irritated but I was soo looking forward to working on my business once I got home. It didn´t help that I had to cook which I really didn´t feel like doing. Today I just wanted to do my thing. I had been out all day doing things for others so I felt I had done my share. Anyway the reason I am telling you this is that once I started yelling and nagging the kids a thought occurred to me. I know you shouldn’t ´t just walk in and nag, not very effective and I know that letting things slide until later and asking nicely would have had a better effect. All it did was make my children annoyed at me and for what? What was I trying to accomplish, what was my goal here? That´s...
