Irritated? Here is a quick fix.

Well here is the second post in our series of posts that help you to figure out where you are now and where you want to go next year so it can be the most productive year ever. Tay we are going to talk about getting out of the rut that has been created by your underlying limited belief that others or other things are to blame for the things you are unhappy with yourself or in your life. Think about this, have you ever been pissed off at the scorching heat or the 30 below winter when you know you live in that climate? Probably not, do you know why? its simply because you can´t change it but you can change how you deal with it and think about it. It’s you, your perception and your reactions that are the key here. If you have the heat or the cold you can move, or you can dress less, go for a swim, put on a parka, take up...

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway

We all feel fear, it is the natural way our body and mind tell us to be aware of danger but that does not mean that we should not go forward. We need to confront our fears in order to move forward in life. We need to accept them, embrace them and allow ourselves to feel the fears we experience in order to move on. Everyone feels fear. In the cave man days fear protected us from predators, dangers and daily life. Today fear is our concoction. It helps us to know when we need to take charge, look closely at what we are doing and to reevaluate where our life is going. We cannot allow fear stop us from experiencing life or going forward because if it does we will be stagnant. We have seen this in the lives of our friends when they fear making changes that will help them to go forward. We see it in our children when they fear change like trying a...

Listen Your Way to Success

Listen Your Way to Success

Helllo everyone, Here is another great tip from Balanced Mompreneur. To succeed both at work and at home there is one thing that if you do right will exponentially help you to succeed. By being a great listener you can catapult your success and create stronger bonds at home. Your children will be calmed and happier and your spouse will feel closer to you. Your customers and coworkers will appreciate you even more than ever before. To be a good listener you need to be present the whole time you are having a conversation with the person you are talking to. You should ask questions that reflect and incite thought from the other person. Ask questions to clarify what you have heard as well. We often think that we know exactly what the person we are talking to is really saying but we are often wrong. Really! If you want to ensure that you know what the other person is saying to avoid confusion and misunderstandings it is important...

To Believe is to Achieve

I wrote a post a few years ago that I was reading today and it rang so true that I thought I  would rewrite it for you. Believe and you will achieve. We have all heard this before. Maybe we have even put it into action, and who knows, maybe even seen results from believing in ourselves. Yet their are a few more things we need to think about if we want to be successful in out endeavors and achieve our goals. For  instance you need to plan. We cant plan everything and we certainly have to be flexible enough to adapt to unexpected events but that doesn’t mean we should  just sit back and wait either. We should have goals. Big ones, small ones, multiple goals at a time and even goals that are so big they seem like mere dreams. We all know that we can have goals but what makes the goals we have successful? It is actually very simple. They have to be specific, measurable, achievable,...

The secrets to success

I have been reading Jack Canfields Success secrets, in fact while I sat in the sun in Spain last week I read the whole book. The secrets really resonated with me because I am a believer in having good habits that promote success and happiness in your life as well as striving to reduce stress and facilitate greater work life balance in your life. As mompreneurs and working mothers I am sure you will appreciate this, . Then today I was with my interns and was telling them about the book when they began to be really interested. Their faces lit up and they leaned forward to learn more about how they to could get a leg up on life. They are all really intelligent individuals that will go on to change the world with their wisdom and I look forward to following their journey through life. While I was talking to them they expressed a genuine interest in having me teach them one principle a day so that they could...

Meditate your way to more self confidence

There is no question in my mind that meditation is a great way to boost your self confidence and improve your quality of life. When you meditate you slow down your thinking and clear your mind of all of the excess negative thoughts that have been floating around in your head all day. You allow your brain to heal itself and heal these thoughts. Yourself conscious works through the thoughts that you are thinking and helps you to develop a clearer and better perspective. It is as simple as purchasing some meditation CD´s and taking the time to listen to them. The trick is to prepare for your meditation. Get in the right mindset. Let the other people in your family know that for the next 30 minutes or so you are unavailable. If you think ahead and take precautions to avoid disturbances you will not be disturbed.   Create a comfortable space whether it is in a chair the couch or a bed. Make sure the temperature is...
