Irritated? Here is a quick fix.

Well here is the second post in our series of posts that help you to figure out where you are now and where you want to go next year so it can be the most productive year ever. Tay we are going to talk about getting out of the rut that has been created by your underlying limited belief that others or other things are to blame for the things you are unhappy with yourself or in your life. Think about this, have you ever been pissed off at the scorching heat or the 30 below winter when you know you live in that climate? Probably not, do you know why? its simply because you can´t change it but you can change how you deal with it and think about it. It’s you, your perception and your reactions that are the key here. From Mom to Mompreneur The 10 Essential Traits My Kids Taught Me about Running a Business

Everything I know about being a Mompreneur I learned from raising my Kids As a business owner I am sure you have experienced times when you felt overwhelmed, flustered, frustrated, desperate, confused and out of your league. Some of you may have wanted to give up. You may have thought that you were in over your head. This was not the reason you got into business. You pictured freedom to choose how you spent your time, being your own boss and having time for yourself, but this is not the reality. I am going to show you that you can have all those things if you just look back at what you learned from being a parent. I have been thinking about how I learned to run a business, where I drew the wisdom from, what experiences helped me along the way and what drives me to continue even when things don´t seem to be working out. Every time I get the same answer; I learned it from being a...

The Business of Being a Mom-How to Eliminate Stress and Love Your Life

This post is dedicated to you girls, you know who you are. Being a stay at home mom has its perks but it also has a downside. The image of being what I call a front line coordinator is awesome for those that don’t do it. It is coveted by working moms world wide because they believe you get these incredible moments, fantastic times when you connect with your kids and that life is just easier, smoother and pleasant when you are home. We are going to explore that in this post. What is life like a working mom? Wake up, get the kids up, get them to brush their teeth, get dressed, eat breakfast, all the while trying to get your face on, trying to do something about that hair and pick clothes so you look presentable. You drag them to the car  a panic because you are afraid you will be late for work. Shit you forgot the lunches, OK Tim Hortons drive through and were good....

So you think you are superman?

So you think you are superman or woman. To hell with work life balance, you have decided that you and only you can save the world. Everyone that comes to you with their problems needs your help and you are going to give it to them even if it means putting everything on hold in the meantime. You are going to accomplish more than is humanly possible in less time than it takes to snap your fingers and you are going to do it with style. That´s just the way you roll. You know that in the past when that feeling of panic has come around that you have had to slow down and that the stress has taken a toll until you have a bit of a breakdown and have to let some things slide. Unfortunately you also know that when you take on too much you give up any semblance of work life balance and forgo being able to manage your family and business because you are to busy getting things done. This doesn’t worry...

Learn to Delegate

Delegation is the single most important thing working mothers need to learn if they want to have more time. Many mothers feel that only they can do things right like shopping for groceries or doing laundry but the reality is that everyone can learn to do these things for you eventually if you only allow then the chance. Delegation can encompass almost everything in your life and it should be a huge part of helping you to free up your time. It can help you to avoid procrastination, accomplish more and create less stress in your life if you do it right. The key to delegation is to take the time to teach whoever you are delegating to what you expect from them and supporting them until you are happy with the way they do things. Henry Ford said that his success was created by delegation. He said that he found people that were better than him at whatever he was delegating then he delegated to them without worry...

A little bit of selfishness

Is taking time for yourself being selfish? Is making sure that you have extra energy reserves to much to ask? Taking time to go to the gym for some exercise or taking a walk in nature by yourself sound good to us all. We love the idea of curling up with a book in a quiet place and reading to our hearts delight. We relish the thought of not having to do anything for anyone but ourselves. We dream about doing what we want without a thought about anything else. So why don’t we make sure to take time to do these things. They help us to recharge our batteries and keep us sane so what is stopping us?. Guilt like we talked about in the last post but also this sense of responsibility to others. Of course we have an obligation to others, to our kids, to our families to our clients and customers but what about our responsibility to ourselves. Many years ago when my kids were...
